Update 9-7-2017:I've had this printer since 3/2016, and never had a lick of trouble with it. It just keeps going and going and going. We have 7 kids, and are homeschool the 6 that are old enough. I have put probably 4-5 toner cartridges through it, and have not had to replace the drum yet. We have many, many PDF files that we print off, and most of them are double sided, to save paper. If I had any little nit to pick, it would just be that if you manually feed a piece of paper, it seem to frequently print a bit askew. But I rarely do that, myself. My main reason for updating this review, is to say that I have never had to call support, as the website has been pretty comprehensive for drivers and such. But today, for the life of me, I could not figure out how to get the printer dialog box to show me any kind of "toner saver" option. I know I had used it at some point in the past, but I could not find it. So I got online, couldn't find anything that worked, so decided I needed to call the dreaded customer support line. I was shocked to be answered within a minute by a real person. I half expected to be told that it had been too long since I've bought my printer (it's been well over a year), but realized long after the call was finished, that I had forgotten that LIFETIME telephone support is included! Now, I think that I discounted that in my mind, when I first purchased the printer, because I was half expecting that their "phone support" is probably just fairly low quality, outsourced to some low paid, unskilled person. Instead, was met with a very competent rep who seemed to be following a script--albeit and excellent, very solid, well thought out script. I was on the phone for about 40 minutes as we tried different things.I wrote software for about 20 years, so I had a sense that we were making real progress, throughout, as I worked with the rep, so I was not at all bothered by the time it was taking. In the end, she stuck with the problem and methodically resolved it. I could not be more happy with Brother's telephone support. The agent had a slight accent, but spoke very clear English, for those who care about that. For what we bought this for, which is fairly high volume printing, by home standards, I would highly recommend this printer. I would buy it again. The only thing that I might change, is that I wish now that I would have bought the version that had fax capability, so that I could get rid of the fax machine that I keep around for those rare times when you just have to have one.Oh, one last thing--My particular problem was that I was unable to find the "toner saver" option in my Mac Pro printer dialog. I'm still now 100% sure that it wasn't there all the time, and I just wasn't seeing it, but if you do need to use this, know that when you go to the print dialog, you will have to find the "Advanced" option, that does not appear ANYWHERE, unless you select "Print Settings" from a drop down box. It will magically appear, then you have to click on the word "Advanced", and it brings up another whole menu of options. Toner saver is important to us, when we are printing out many pages of worksheets for kids.Original Review:It's hard for me to write a short review, but this is going to be one: Love this printer. Simple to set up, wireless, has a copier built in, allows you to access files from your Google Drive, and other web services to print files w/o your computer. Most of all, the duplexing feature is a huge step forward for home printing. Never realized just how much I was going to like it. I mean, I knew I wanted that feature, but you don't realize how much time and paper you waste those times when you need to print double-sided. Having it built into the driver and printer just takes all the pain out of it. Another huge factor in my love for this is that the toner cost is SO much cheaper than other options. Go price it out per page.
