I purchased this to replace a similar vest that I wear often and was showing some signs of distress. This vest offers a very polished look in its fit finish and fabric. It's a fine thread polished wool. It does require dry cleaning which I try to avoid, but unless I have a strange mishap, I don't anticipate it will need to have any stains removed. My only annoyance is that I would have liked to have purchased slacks of the same brand and color, but it's listed as not being in stock, so I hope that's remedied quickly. If you like the look of a vest or require one in your employment attire, you should like the look and fit of this one. Very satisfied.great quality for the price. The color is darker than shown on the webpage. The charcoal/dark grey is really dark, almost black, while the light grey is not very light at all. I think we'll keep the light grey since it's more like a normal grey. would recommend.Terrific quality. Fits much larger and longer than expected. Had to go from 44 long to 44 reg to get a good fit. Still needs some alterations. All that said, this is a high quality very impressive piece.Amazon needs to get it together if it's going to compete in this market - the use of different materials and patterns (same color) is ANNOYING! It looks like a clown suit!This is not right. Full suit of 3 vest. Jacket and pants never received. Apart from a small jacket. Plse help.This is a decent vest for the price. The wool is very nice: smooth, soft finish, consistent color, no flaws such as errant threads or slubs, well sewn to the poly lining and back, and the pockets are functional. Buttons are plastic and nothing special but at least they appear to be sewn properly and will likely stay put for a while.The fit is about as expected for a tall man (I'm 6'2"). It extends just about where it should below the waistband. Around the neck, the vest does seem loose due to a design flaw: The belt loop on the adjustable belt tab in back is sewn in such that the belt can only be tightened very slightly. This means that if you're slender like I am, this will be a large, loose-fitting vest unless this loop is cut from the belt and either tossed or resewn (easy enough to do but an odd design nonetheless).I also wish there were a small inside pocket, although admittedly this feature isn't terribly common in vests generally. The pockets as they are are nicely done.Overall, I think this is a good value to dress up a casual jeans and collared shirt look or possibly even in a mixed suit, adding a touch of formality. It's sewn well with a good attention to detail except for the odd best oversight described above.Made in China.The good:-Nice quality material-This vest comes in a size "long," and this one is nice for us tall folks. It sufficiently covers the belt line. I am 6'2"The neutral:-The silk material is very thin on the back, which might be nice if you tend to get warm back there. Personally, I prefer a heftier material on the back (I would have LOVED for the back of this vest to be the same material as the front). This detail may be a pro or a con for you, depending on your preference.The bad:-My jacket size is a 40L, and so I ordered vest size 40L as well. The vest is quite loose just below the armpit, even with the back strap tightened. This is the reason I did not keep it. Perhaps later I'll try a smaller chest size, but the event I planned on wearing this vest to has passed so I see no reason to do that any time soon.I'm just a fanatic about vests. The thing that stands out is their versatility. You can use them to dress up or dress down, you can wear them with slacks and a tie or with a T-shirt and jeans. This is an especially nice vest, with the tailoring you expect in an Italian style garment, great fabric, and superior construction. I cannot say enough good things about this vest. I recently managed to get a different vest and really like it as well, but I like this one even more for a small but to me important reason. The other vest has a faux handkerchief. I know, a fairly innocuous reason, but I like integrity in garments like I do in people. Example: I have trouble trusting or even trusting someone who does a comb over. You know they are lying about being bald, plus they lack personal courage to just go bald in front of the world. A tiny piece of cloth sewn into a pocket of a vest is like trying to lie about whether or not there is a handkerchief. But this best doesn't pull any cheap tricks like that. I like that. But I'd like this even if it was trying to make us think it had a kerchief.
